Position Description
Location: Scoresby, VIC (on-site)
Type: Full-time
Jaunt designs and builds electric vehicle conversions for classic cars — and develops advanced EV systems for commercial vehicles and other workshops. Our work combines manufacturing, engineering, and product development. We’re looking for someone to own the coordination of production and procurement, bridging the gap between day-to-day builds and 6–12 month planning.
This is an operational role in a small, agile team, making sure the engineering and production team have what they need, when they need it, while tracking tasks, deliverables and time against the project budget. You’ll be coordinating resources to deliver signature Jaunt vehicle builds, EV system development and commercial projects.
What You’ll Do
- Production Coordination – Work with engineers, mechanical assembly team and commercial partners to plan and track both vehicle builds and EV system projects from parts sourcing to delivery. Manage timelines and tasks via Notion, ensure progress is tracked and tasks are completed efficiently. Ensure smooth handover between engineering development and workshop production.
- Procurement – Purchasing and project expense reconciliation in Xero, track stock, manage suppliers, and forward plan production (including price negotiations for multiple units).
- Mid-term Planning – Balance the immediate needs of the workshop with longer-term schedules, keeping the next 6–12 months in focus
- Improve Efficiency - use your experience in engineering design, automotive and manufacturing to review and improve processes without adding unnecessary admin
- Hands-On Support – Be comfortable stepping into the workshop to check parts, confirm assemblies, or solve problems in real time.
- Resource Management – support the leadership team by helping define performance goals and measures, and take part in strategic recruitment planning.
- Reporting - take part in daily team meetings and weekly management meetings, reporting on project deliverables, timelines and budgets.
- Review Software and Process - assess our current tools and provide recommendations for improvements small and large.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in an automotive, manufacturing, or engineering coordination role — ideally in low-volume, prototype, or bespoke builds.
- Experience with development lifecycles; coordinating the process and problem solving with confidence.
- Practical, hands-on mindset and willingness to work closely with a small, dynamic team.
- Ability to increase team productivity by reducing the administrative burden, balancing workloads and inspiring peak performance.
