Jaunt converts classic and commercial vehicles to fully electric drivetrains. We've spent the last seven years building some of the most respected electric classic cars in the world.
You help build electric vehicles from scratch, from the battery pack, through vehicle assembly, to the final test drive.
That starts with the EV systems themselves. You build battery packs and the other systems on our platform to our designs, then fit them into the vehicle, wire them in, and build the rest of the car around them. Then you test drive it and sort out what's not right. You'll have a few builds on the go at once, at different stages, with our electrical and mechanical engineers on hand.
Our workshop is at 1555 Centre Road, Clayton, in south-east Melbourne. We share the campus with Bosch and MoTeC.
There are around seven cars in build at any given time. Land Rover Series, Defenders, Classic Minis, Porsches, Kombis, commercial vehicles, and a few builds you won't have seen anywhere else.
Most of what we build is one of our standard models, on an EV platform we've been developing for years. The designs are documented, the main wiring harnesses are manufactured, and the same systems go into build after build.
But the platform is in continual development, every vehicle that comes through the door is different, and some of the documentation gets written as the build happens.
We're continually adding structure to how the workshop runs, and high-voltage work is documented properly, every time.
There's a lot of working with wires in this job. The main harnesses are manufactured, and every build adds one-off elements and adjustments around them.
Come from either side. An auto electrician can learn brakes here. A mechanic can learn looms here. We're flexible on how the work is split, as long as you want both.
